Meadowlawn Australian Shepherds is a mother-daughter team located near Cologne, MN (about 45 minutes west of the Twin Cities). Combined, we have over 40 years of experience in the Australian Shepherd breed. We compete in AKC & ASCA and have been successful at local & national levels. We strive for soundness in health and conformation, breeding only select individuals whose qualities will contribute to the betterment of the breed. We are active members of ASCA, USASA, and UMASC. Kim has volunteered her time as the Treasurer for UMASC for 23 years, and was President for 2006 & 2007. Meadowlawn was established in 1979 with the purchase of two Aussies: Ch. Meadowlawn's Red Whiskey, CD and Meadowlawn's Blue Shi-Ann, CD. Whiskey was a beautiful red merle male whose pedigree consisted of primarily Los Rocosa. He attained his Championship and CD on the very same day. Annie was a striking blue bitch who was sired by Ch. Jayhawk of Coppertone. Annie accumulated major points in Conformation, and finished her CD.

Whiskey and Annie were never bred together, but with some lovely outcrosses with Annie and some beautiful bitches bred to Whiskey, Meadowlawn made its mark. Whiskey and Annie made a beautiful foundation for our kennel. Our second foundation dog came from Calgary Kennels in Arizona. Dillon, Ch. Free Spirit of Calgary, was sired by the remarkable Ch. Hallmark of Windermere, and was out of Samantha of Windermere. Dillon was a typee individual possessing great disposition and flawless movement. Dillon easily attained his Championship and was awarded Top Champion Male for UMASC year-end awards in 1982 & 1983.

In 1986, Kim took a break from showing to raise her three kids; David, Brian, and Sarah. She still remained active as club Treasurer for UMASC and bred a few litters for future show prospects. David and Brian enjoyed the company of the Aussies, but were never interested in the showing aspect. Sarah, on the other hand, took to dogs and dog shows like a duck to water. She tagged along with Kim to numerous shows and exhibited in the pee-wee handling class with Meadowlawn's Brooke Be Good, a Dillon daughter. Sarah, of course, was never satisfied with only being in one class and always questioned why she couldn't run around the ring just one more time. It was with this that we knew Sarah would become hooked to showing dogs.

Sarah grew up in the Junior Showmanship ring, and left quite a mark. Some of Sarah's accomplishments include: Best Junior Handler in Finals at the 2001 ASCA nationals, Reserve Junior Handler in Finals at the 2000, 2002, and 2003 ASCA nationals, ASCA 500 club for 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004, Best Junior Handler at the 2003 USASA nationals, 2004 Westminster qualifier and pulled for final 10 in group, and 1999-2000 High Point Overall in ASCA year-end junior standings. Sarah has now taken all that she has learned from the juniors ring and puts it into showing her own dogs as well as clients. She has also mentored a number of junior handlers, as well.

Kim and Sarah have now joined forces to work towards becoming a Hall Of Fame kennel and continue producing quality individuals with the emphasis on sound health, temperament, and structural correctness. ***WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT CHYNA HAS BECOME A HALL OF FAME DAM!!!!**** The following is a list of the dogs we have bred (from 2001 - current) that have earned titles! Highlighted are the titles that count for ASCA HOF Kennel.
